Job Summary

The Visibility Manager of Software Engineering manages and oversees the design and development of software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the work of engineers to ensure the best practices around software development.
  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Typically reports to a senior manager or top management.
  • Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
  • Has full authority for personnel actions.
  • Extensive knowledge of department processes.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in the related area as an individual contributor and minimal supervisory experience may be required.
  • Role will entail 50% management, 50% development work.
  • Development Skills required:
  • C#, HTML, JavaScript, JavaScript Framework Experience, CSS Framework Experience, MS SQL Server
  • Development Skills desired:
  • Vue.js, Vuetify, npm, git, Azure DevOps, Agile & Waterfall SDLC

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of software development experience
  • Experience in the material handling industry, distribution centers and warehouse automation
  • Knowledge of WMS material handling equipment and software offerings
  • Knowledge of Team Foundation Server version control system
  • Knowledge of business practices and project management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and listening skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead work teams and projects effectively
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to learn new technologies
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Team-oriented and collaborative
